The weather in Kenya can simply be described as moderate and pleasant. The weather is good throughout the year as there are no extreme conditions as those found both in the northern and southern hemispheres. The reason to this is that the Equator straddles across the country, practically dividing it into two! The physical features add to this by providing the visitor with experiences that range from the humidity of sea level at the Indian Ocean to high altitudes of up to 5000 feet in the hinterland.
The country experiences long rains in the months of April and May while the short rains come in the months of September through early December. During the short rains, it is common for downfalls to happen during the night giving way to sunny intervals during the days with some days actually turning out to be very hot. The Kenyan "winter" comes in the month of July and may extend into August where temperatures in the region of 10 degrees are common and quite cold for the locals.
For visitors looking for the sun, the months of January to March are the hot and dry. The month of March will under normal circumstances be rather humid as the long rains period sets in. Nevertheless, most of the other months are relatively hot particularly for visitors from cooler countries. The weather in Kenya can therefore be considered to be quite ideal for the holidaymaker.

Travel to Kenya
Travel to Kenya is easy and convenient. Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, is accessible from all parts of the world and is currently served by many airlines that bring travelers from all corners of the globe. One can easily travel from North and South America, Europe,The Middle East, Asia and the Far East. The national carrier Kenya Airways also provides convenient connections from most destinations into the country. The bulk of air travel to Kenya terminates at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi which handles most schedule flights, while Moi International Airport in the port city of Mombasa handles numerous charter flights bringing holiday makers to Kenyan beaches. Indeed, Nairobi is the natural hub for the region and many travelers come through the city to connect to onward flights into the region and beyond.
Some of the international airlines that operate scheduled flights into Nairobi include; British Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Swiss International Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, South Africa Airways, SN Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Air India and more recently Delta Connection Air.
While arranging your travel into Kenya, it is always advisable to contact your travel agent in order to achieve the most convenient connections and maybe even capture the best deal. There are many websites that provide information on flights into Kenya but considering the dynamism of travel information, what you might get from some of these sources might not be the latest information nor the most convenient.
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your ground handler will normally meet you and provide you with transport to your city hotel. This is important in the case where you have made prior arrangements for your travel to Kenya. This also provides for the best option of your interaction with your new destination as it provides for an opportunity to discuss all the necessary visitor information that should ensure a smooth and safe stay.

Calling Travel Enthusiasts Worldwide
Any travel enthusiast can be an effective Travel Director. I will insist that if you love to travel, then you can enjoy it for less money to you, do it more often and maybe become a hero of sorts for your trouble.
Everyone wants to travel - if they can afford it - but getting round to do it is the real issue. With all the trouble of security, misinformation, lack of information, too much information etc, who wants to venture outside their comfort zones? But, with the right information, motivation and company, anyone will dare to "go out there and see the world".
In my decades of experience in the Kenyan and East African tourism market, I have learned that most of the people who come to this beautiful destination do so through word of mouth. Many come back over and over again, while others simply come and stay for good. The one thing they all have in common is this; they know the destination well. They are not uncertain or fearful of what they read in the newspapers, neither are they the most fearless or daring of all!
Through this blog, I would like to make a proposition to you. If you can come up with a group of friends, relatives or colleagues who would want to experience the magic of an East African adventure, I will give you all the logistical support you need to lead your group to this part of the world and will ensure that you pay wholesalers' costs for yourself. Who knows, depending on the size of the group, as the Travel Director you might find yourself traveling for free!
Think about it, besides the traditional and hugely famous bush safari that the East African countries are renown for, you can become a Travel Director on a birdwatching, golf, conservation, cultural or even a voluntourism holiday. The possibilities are many and they are begging for exploration.
And while you exercise your leadership qualities, I will attempt to provide the most comprehensive and unbiased information for the destination as possible, while at the same time doing my best to respond to all questions and comments that will come my way. Trust me, every time I have the moment, I will put information that can be used by the most professional Travel Director right here on this blog.
And guess what, I shall have no alternative but to hold your hand and walk with you through the entire process of making you the star of your group. If you insist that I come along with you, I will do so for I have special understanding with all hotels and lodges that I have used over the years - they let me sleep at the reception when everyone has gone to bed.
What's more, I think that in my life in the trade I must have answered more than 100 million strange questions but I feel like am not yet half way. What am I saying? Ask and ask and ask as many questions as you need to ask if that is what will get you to consider having the time of your life in Africa. The local Travel Director is at your service.
